Mummy's tummy

I was taking my youngest daughter to school the other day when she suddenly said:
"Daddy, I used to be in mummy's tummy"
"Yes you were" I said "And guess what? I used to be in my mummy's tummy too"
"What?" she said in amazement "you were in my mummy's tummy?"
"No" I chuckled, "my mummy is your Grannie"
"Grannie is your mummy?!" she asked in disbelief.

"Daddy" she said, "after I was in mummy's tummy, I dressed as Peter Pan and then I ate all my grapes".

Ah, the last 4 years rolled into one nice easy sentence!

This conversation took place a short while after a similar one she had with her Grannie, who happens to be Maggie May and features in a recent post

Wonderful aren't they?
When I was expecting my third, my son at nursery school spread the word. when I was waiting in line at collection time one day, one little boy couldn't wait and ran up to his mummy and declared with a disgusted look on his face "Mummy guess where Martin's Mummy keeps her baby... IN HER TUMMY".
All the queue suppressed the smiles, but I wonder if questions were asked later.
Love Granny
Keep up the tech support!

Hi! Came over from your mum's place to read the rest of the story. Your youngest daughter is such a sweetie. I can still remember being amazed by relationships in my own family, when I was a child and also my own sons' surprise at realising that their gran was my mother etc!

Lol! Those were the highlights of your daughter's last 4 years, then?

Looked Maggie May's post and then your's. Super story Sam. Aren't kids great? When they get a bit older and corrupted it is not always the case. Once I had to open a Building Society account and was asked for a password and "Kids Who'd Have Them" was my reply. The whole place was in uproar!
Also loved your skit on the Morris dancers. I'm doing a post on mine soon which you might like. Eddie

One of the best things in the entire world is to see the look on a child's face when they make a previously unmade logical connection. Great stuff.

Thanks for dropping by over at my place!
